Backstreet Boys
I thought their song "I want it that way" came out in 1997 in their first album. But I guess not. Anyway, it seemed like 1997 for some reason. Yup! Those were the days! Boy bands, loose jeans, midtop basketball shoes, poppy hoppy pop music...
I really loved (and I still do!) watching their music video of that song showing them entering an airport and meeting fans there. Awesome stuff...
I'm not sure why, but I guess it gives a feeling of youth and living a colorful life when you're still young. Taking the opportunity to enjoy some color and vibe in life while you still can before reality really kicks in and priorities become different. Those girls in that video that went all crazy and said "Oh my god" and "I love you" and all that, they are probably becoming mothers soon if not already. And the Boys, they've gone their ways (well, Kevin anyway). When you look at them back then and now, you know that time sure is a menace! They went through what I guess all other instant-success entertainers go through. One needs to be able to recognize what they have in front of them and to appreciate it knowing that it will all disappear some day.
Talk about music videos and pop of the time, there was also Britney Spears and N'Sync....
